This is the new launch by Redmi, and this is the Redmi 9 Prime. This smartphone has 4GB RAM and for the processing, they have used the MediaTek Helio G80 processor. It comes with an attached battery of 5020 mAh which is good. The display size of this smartphone is 6.53 inches and it’s quite decent for a smartphone of this range. For the operating system, this smartphone uses Android v10 (Q) which is great. And for the custom UI, this smartphone uses the UI of MIUI like every other MI smartphone. This is a dual sim smartphone with GSM + GSM. This is not a 5G smartphone but this is much updated for the 4G setup. And in this range, you are getting a fingerprint sensor as well. And to charge your battery quickly, this comes with the quick charging feature for the users. The body of this smartphone is made of plastic so you should be extra careful while dropping this smartphone as it may get damaged. The good thing that this smartphone is splash-proof so you don’t have to worry about getting some water into it, but do not let it completely drawn to water as this might damage the smartphone. This smartphone comes in some really cute color options like Space Blue, Mint Green, Sunrise flare, and Matte Black. The color options are very unique and the name of them as well.

But although this smartphone is launched after the guideline was made and the government has banned 59 apps due to security reasons, this smartphone uses the banned apps for cleaning and security purpose. In which the security purpose completely vanishes as the app itself is declared as unsafe and has been banned in India. Although the company has given some letters in writing that they are working on it, but still they used the banned app. Now time will let us know that how they will remove this app or what kind of update will be there, but till then this specific Redmi 9 Prime has this banned app as the security app. Clearly, as per the government guideline, this is purely unsafe.

NOTE: Although this time Redmi tried their best to fulfill all the required criteria but somewhere they were not able to fulfill the basic and the most important thing which is the security. If they update something and clean this from the device then this smartphone will be worth the price and the other features are very decent compared to the price range. You can go for this smartphone but only after the security app is updated. Till then recommending this smartphone will be misguiding as our government has banned this app.
