MediaTek Dimensity 9300 with maximum 3.25GHz clock speed Leaked

Updated: October 15, 2023 10:48

In the smartphone, chip manufacturing category, a company named MediaTek has unveiled its new flagship Dimensity 9300 chipset.

The all-new MediaTek Dimensity 9300 is the successor of its own Dimensity 9200, the brain behind powerful devices like the Oppo Find N3 Flip and the Vivo X90 series. While the company has not reviewed the specs and features of this new chipset we got some leaks fluttering in the market which suggest lots of features in this chipset.

Let's talk about the speed, the Dimensity 9300 is designed on a 1+3+4 architecture, and it's poised to be 10 percent faster than Qualcomm's yet-to-be-announced Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC chipset.

Here's where it gets exciting. One trusty tipster, the Digital Chat Station, has been talking numbers on Chinese social media Weibo. If he is right then Dimensity 9300 will have a prime CPU core which has its maximum 3.25GHz clock speed, with three cores 2.85GHz clock speed, and four 2.0GHz clock speed.

Now, let's take a view at what the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC chipset brings to on table. It comes with a prime CPU core of 3.19GHz clock speed, five cores maintaining steerability at 2.96GHz clock speed, and two more cruising at 2.27GHz clock speed.
According to the clock speeds, Dimensity 9300 is claiming a 10 percent edge over the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. It is also clear that MediaTek is taking the lead over Qualcomm after these specifications leaked. But we don't have to be excited before the official launch of both the processors.

Although only the speed does not make much difference, the Dimensity 9300 also promises an upgrade over the Dimensity 9200. The older chip could handle LPDDR5x memory, and UFS 4.0 storage, and coupled with an Arm Cortex-X3 core running at 3.05GHz, three Arm Cortex-A715 cores proceeding at 2.85GHz, and four Arm Cortex-A510 cores at 1.8GHz. These are all manufactured at TSMC's 2nd generation 4nm process.

Oppo Find X6, Oppo Find N3 Flip, and the Vivo X90 series own Dimensity 9200 SoC powerful processor. A rumor is suggesting that the upcoming Vivo X100 Pro+ could be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 9300 chipset.
