OnePlus Open with a 120Hz refresh rate OLED primary display

The OnePlus's first fobable smartphone OnePlus Open may be launched on October 19 in Mumbai. We've got an exclusive launch event poster, thanks to YouTuber Michael Fisher, a.k.a. MrMobile, who took us on a tour inside the OnePlus headquarters in China.

Now, we all know the issue that has troubled many foldable phones. But with this OnePlus Open, the company seems to have cracked the technology of folding screens in a better way. In the video, Fisher revealed that the OnePlus Open has all-new foldable technology, which seems similar to our book folds. By reducing the number of hinge parts to 69 and using lighter alloys which makes the phone only 13 grams in weight. That's lighter than its competitors, who make foldable smartphones. This technology makes this phone more sophisticated in opening with an ultra smoother experience.

OnePlus has tested this Open to a series of durability tests. From drops to twists and bends, this phone passes every single test. While the official certification remains unclosed, the phone's testing conditions hinted at IPX2 or IPX4 water and dust resistance ratings.

It may powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC chipset paired with 12GB of RAM. OnePlus Open features a 120Hz refresh rate OLED primary display with a 2,268 x 2,440 pixels resolution. Whereas a 120Hz refresh rate with 1,116 x 2,484 pixels of resolution screen features in the outer panel.

The OnePlus Open doesn't disappoint photographers and daily content creators it carries a 48-megapixel primary sensor, another 48-megapixel secondary sensor, and the last 64-megapixel sensor with a telephoto lens. For selfie lovers, it may have a 32-megapixel or 20-megapixel front-facing camera.

OnePlus Open foldable smartphone carries a 4,805mAh massive battery pack which also supports 100W wired fast charging technology.
