In a groundbreaking move, the most Apple has integrated India's very own Navigation with Indian Constellation (NavIC) GPS system into its latest iPhone 15 models that is launched recently few days back in the global market. This tech acknowledgment comes straight from Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar, who shared this exciting news on Thursday 14th September. NavIC, this high-tech GPS by ISRO satellites can give tough competition to Google Maps, although the iPhone 15 models also support other GPS like Galileo and Glonass, but it is a proud moment for all Indians.
Apple set the stage for this tremendous moment on September 12 when they pulled the curtain back on the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. The whole world got a glimpse of this 2023 smartphone, and soon, they'll be available to get hands-on by later this month.
But what makes this iPhone 15 launch particularly special? Minister Chandrasekhar gave a clear mass, "There are two big milestones that emerge from the Apple announcement of their newest iPhone 15. One is definitely a very satisfying announcement which is that on the very day a customer in New York, Tokyo, or London gets their hands on an iPhone 15, an Indian customer will also get the Apple iPhone 15 on the same day."
For the first time in iPhone history, the iPhone 15 supports not just one, but a trio of GPS systems. NavIC, the star of the Indian space agency, will shine brightly alongside Galileo and Glonass, encouraging the iPhone's navigation capabilities.
Minister Chandrasekhar couldn't hide his excitement, "So for the first time ever, a global product like iPhone will have integrated technology that is designed, delivered, and powered by India, which is something that ISRO has built very early. It shows the coming of years of Indian technology a rise."
But here's the big question - will we see NavIC introduced in other places? The answer is a big yes! The Indian government is all set for NavIC to become a standard feature in the world of automobiles. It's a natural progression just like all iPhones now proudly support NavIC, all automobiles in upcoming years will also support this Indian navigation system.
With this integration, the world is witnessing the convergence of global tech giants with India's very own GPS.
