Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro with Google's new Tensor G3 SoC chipset

Much much-awaited smartphone by Google may launch on October 4, 2023, named the Google Pixel 8 series. Google has confirmed that the Pixel 8 series will be introduced in two models Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. The company has followed its legacy of the Google Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro which were launched last year in October 2022.
Leaks, reports, and certification listings have shown the design and specs of this latest 2023 Pixel smartphone. It is no secret that upcoming smartphones are gearing up to deliver significant upgrades over their predecessors. Now, as we draw closer to the launch, a mysterious tipster, Kamila Wojciechowska, has given some of the details that we have to know.
According to Kamila, the base Pixel 8 variant will come in Obsidian, Hazel, and Rose hues. Meanwhile, the Pixel 8 Pis will be available in the Obsidian, Porcelain, and Bay colour options. The base model might come with a price tag of $699 (around Rs. 51,800 in India), while its Pro variant could be listed at $899 (roughly Rs. 74,800 in India).
But wait, there's more! A recent leak suggests that Google has something special in store for early customers. If you pre-order the Pixel 8 Pro, you might just get a free Pixel Watch 2. Now that's an offer that's hard to refuse.
The coampany officials have already announced that the launch of the Pixel 8 series will held on October 4 in New York at 10:00 am0am local time (7:30 pm IST). The Pixel Watch 2 and Pixel Buds Pro will be introduced at the ‘Made by Google' event. Since then, the company has been actively mocking smartphones via its social media handles. In India, the handsets are confirmed to go on pre-order via Flipkart starting 5th October.
This time Both the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro will run on the latest Android 14. Both phones carry a 120Hz refresh rate display which provides a smooth gaming and operating experience. These phones are powered by Google's new Tensor G3 SoC chipset that's a Google in-house chipset.
The normal Pixel 8 will feature a 6.17-inch OLED full-HD+ display, while the bigger Pro model could feature a 6.71-inch QHD LTPO OLED display. These displays of both models feature a Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection.
Pixel 8 is expected to carry a dual rear camera setup with a 50-megapixel primary sensor and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide lens. Whereas the Pixel 8 Pro carries a triple rear camera setup and is likely to have the same 50-megapixel primary sensor it carries optical image stabilization (OIS) which is better compared to the Pixel 8, a 48-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and another 48-megapixel telephoto camera with 5x zoom.
Taking about the front selfie camera both phones are features with 10.5-megapixel camera sensors.
These phones are made for capturing Real Tone, Night Sight, Astrophotography, and Super Res Zoom features. The fun continues with Magic Editor's face-swapping capabilities, Video Boost, and Light Sight for low-light video recording. It can also eliminate background noise from your videos via its all-new Audio Eraser.
Google is promising seven years of OS and security updates for the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro which is a significant step by Google.
The base model Pixel 8 may carry a 4,485mAh battery with 24W wired and 12W wireless fast charging technology. On the other hand, the Pixel 8 Pro might have a 4,950mAh battery with 27W wired fast charging and 12W wireless charging technology.
